Successful transformation of WASI online store, important part of Würth group

Our collaboration with WASI l.t.d, a leading provider of nautical products in Croatia and surrounded area, owned by Würth grupation resulted in successfully launching their new website on time, in close collaboration with their team. Because their old system was outdated and caused slow internal processes, we needed to start completely from scratch. This included analyzing all business requirements, streamlining internal workflows, identifying opportunities, and aligning closely with their brand’s visual standards.

The new web platform provides an improved user experience, making it easier for WASI to maintain its competitive edge. The professional and dedicated approach of our team contributed greatly to the success of the project.

The client was dissatisfied with their existing eCommerce solution—a custom-built application developed in 2013. It was outdated, challenging to maintain, difficult to update, and adding new features was costly and complicated. Furthermore, the system lacked integration with the client's ERP application and external services.

As the client was expanding its retail network across Croatia, they recognized significant untapped potential in online sales, which their existing platform could not support. Our challenge was to develop an optimal business process considering the client's technological and organizational resources, ensuring compliance with visual standards and aligning products with the target audience. The new solution needed to be user-friendly, scalable, easy to manage, and incorporate all the features of a modern eCommerce platform.

An experienced eCommerce team conducted an analysis of business processes and available options, developed a comprehensive project plan, provided ongoing consultations and support, and created strategies for post-implementation growth.

Projects started with workshops and meetings to gather detailed information about business processes, sales organization, and technical requirements from the ERP aplication.

Synchronization with the ERP for automatic updates of prices, stock (including all retail stores and two warehouses), and automatic order integration to streamline billing processes.

Final result of this requirement was fast development of a connector with programming logic for real-time data synchronization of over 10,000 products across all stores and warehouses.

Delivery tasks and actions using Overseas delivery service, and payment options including Monri WSPay PG provider.

We developed full package solution, including integration with Overseas delivery service, automating the creation, printing, and tracking of shipments with email notifications option. Regarding payment required, we developed nopCommerce plugin using integration with Monri WSPay for secure online payment processing, enabling automated payment status tracking.

Seamless performance of the webshop application, handling more than 10,000 products, with planned growth to 20,000 products in the first year. Data imported from the previous system included detailed product descriptions, categories, attributes, manufacturers, and images, ensuring fast performance through advanced caching.

All data exchange and updates occur within the data model, utilizing advanced cache memory updates, ensuring fast webshop performance.

The goal was to create an intuitive and simple user experience with a design fully aligned with the company's visual standards, making products easily accessible to as many customers as possible, and ensuring straightforward and quick purchases..

During initial workshops and analyses, our design team established a clear design strategy. By accurately defining user groups, we developed a modern visual solution free of unnecessary information, fully focused on product presentation and ease of use.

The webshop launched successfully in late November 2023, as scheduled, allowing the client several months for internal training and operational preparation before the nautical season. One year after launch, online sales grew over 400% compared to the previous year, with more than 50 daily orders (over 1,500 monthly orders) and more than 10,000 monthly users. This success allowed the client and their owner (Würth Group) to achieve their business goals and reinforce their leading position in nautical retail.

Automated processes enabled webshop administration by just one employee, significantly reducing operational costs. The client now focuses on improving warehouse management, packaging, and order fulfillment processes and using the new webshop to drive customers to physical stores. nopCommerce provided a scalable, secure, and user-friendly eCommerce solution
